At iMapStudio, we create designs and maps using a variety of data sources. Our designs are based on:
Open Data – We incorporate publicly available geographic datasets, including OpenStreetMap (OSM) and national mapping agencies, under their respective open licenses.
Generated Data – Some maps are created using digitisation, and algorithmic techniques, including elevation modelling, terrain visualization, and geospatial analysis.
Customer-Provided Data – For custom orders, we work with data submitted by customers, such as GPS tracks, event routes, photos, or personal geographic information. By submitting data, customers confirm they have the right to use and share it. We respect data privacy and will only use customer-provided data for the purpose of creating the requested map. If your data incorporates third-party sources (e.g., GPS tracks, race routes, or property boundaries), please ensure that it complies with relevant licensing terms.
We strive for accuracy, but map representations are artistic in nature and may not always reflect real-world changes or official boundaries.
We acknowledge and appreciate the following sources:
OpenStreetMap – © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).
LINZ Data Service – Contains data sourced from Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
If you have any questions about data sources, specific customer-provided data or design, feel free to contact us.
